The method

How numerology is calculated

Each letter of the alphabet corresponds to a number between 1 and 9. You assign a value to every letter in your full birth name, add them together, then reduce the total to a single digit — unless the result is a master number (11, 22, or 33), which is never reduced further.

For John Doe: J=1, O=6, H=8, N=5 · D=4, O=6, E=5
Sum: 1+6+8+5+4+6+5 = 35 → reduce: 3+5 = 8
Destiny number 8 — associated with ambition, leadership, and material success.

Your Life Path number is derived from your full date of birth — reduce the day, month, and year separately, then add and reduce again. Your Ruling number uses the same date digits reduced to a single digit without master-number preservation. Your Personal Year is your birth day and month added to the current calendar year, then reduced.
